Cell Phone Users Are Just Some Of The People Who Drive Me Crazy

People who use cell phones while driving and don't pay attention to the road, people who don't turn the ringer off on their cell phones in a restaurant, in the movies, or who leave their phones at their desk and disappear, leaving them playing annoying music at full volume. These are just a few of My Pet Peeves. You can read the full list on my Squidoo lens My Pet Peeves and add your own Pet Peeves to the list as well. http://amplify.com/u/a17wuj

Have You Heard Of Sandbanks?

If you haven't, what if I told you it was the 4th most expensive place to live in the world, after London, Tokyo and New York. Sandbanks is a peninsular on the South Coast of England, now home to many wealthy and famous people, rather like Malibu, but back in the 1960's and earlier it was just a collection of houses built on sand dunes. My grandmother lived there in the 1950's and 1960's, and the family had several other houses there too, now sadly all gone. Come learn about Sandbanks, where Marconi performed early wireless experiments, and learn about this fascinating part of England, on my lens about Sandbanks http://amplify.com/u/a17vcv

Famous People From Bournememouth Tops The Google Charts

I was hoping that my latest lens Famous People From Bournemouth was going to be a success, since an article I wrote about this on Associated Content 18 months ago gets regular traffic. I just googled "Famous People From Bournemouth" and my lens shows up at #5, my article at #6, so fingers crossed it will get enough love to be a regular Tier 2 lens. http://amplify.com/u/a17usa

Famous People From Bournemouth

Famous People From Bournemouth is coming together after more than a year of delays. It's truly amazing how many people were born in Bournemouth, or lived in this seaside town on the South Coast of England. I invite you to come take a look at this lens as it takes shape. I have a lot more people to add as well, so with luck it will turn out to be as successful as my main Bournemouth lens. http://amplify.com/u/a17i6l

What A Gloomy Weekend

Much of last week the skies were grey here in the UK, and over the weekend it was even worse. It looked like it was going to storm, or at least drizzle, but we saw hardly any rain until Monday afternoon. It was a holiday weekend here too, as well as in the USA, and so after 2 days of staying home, working on the garden, we decided to take a walk along the Hamble River, which is only a few miles away. It started to spit of rain after about half a mile, then came down as light drizzle as we reached The Rising Sun pub in Warsash, departure point for the British Commandos in June 1944. Had a great meal and some good beer, then walked back across the marshes, with the rain steadily getting heavier. It was a great walk, lots to see as always (boats, wildlife, high tide and low tide), but it's rather disappointing to get up and go to work this morning and see not a single cloud in the sky. Maybe it will be warmer next weekend. Hope you had a good one. http://amplify.com/u/a144vq
